POLIGNANO: A MAGICAL PLACE IN JULY

Drestige Boutique is a clothing outlet located in Polignano a Mare, a year-round destination for tourists enamoured by the beautiful, crystal-clear sea, excellent food, and hospitable locals. To allow Italian and international tourists to purchase clothing from well-known brands, we opened a clothing outlet, spurred on by the success of our e-commerce site. It quickly became a point of reference for the quality of our selection and the many regular offers we organize.

One of the most spectacular and popular locations on the Puglia coast

Polignano a Mare has been a popular destination for tourists for years, especially for its stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and its high cliffs, perfect for walking and hiking.

The city where our clothing outlet is located has also quickly become one of the most popular destinations for foreign tourists interested in visiting the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, author of the most famous Italian song in the world: Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu.

All the little streets lead to the sea

Polignano a Mare is a town with a long history, inhabited since the Neolithic period and later home to several medieval outposts. Worthy of note is the Arco Marchesale, built in 1500 and the only access to the town until 1780, with its drawbridge concealing the moat that once protected the city.

Every street in Polignano a Mare retains the style and traditions of the era in which it was built, making our city the perfect stop for tourists who love to explore and lose themselves in medieval architecture.

A selfie at Lama Monachile,
small beach with turquoise water

You'll undoubtedly find the 13th-century Mother Church, the Palazzo Marchesale, the residence of the feudal lords, the Palazzo dell'Orologio, and the four defensive towers. The most photographed spot in Polignano a Mare is its small beach with turquoise water, Lama Monachile, always crowded in the summer months: the bridge behind it is built over a Roman bridge on the Via Traiana, the ancient Rome-Brindisi route, which passed right here. Nearby, on the seafront, you'll see the statue dedicated to the world's most famous Polignano native, singer Domenico Modugno.

On the opposite side of town, also with a spectacular sea view, is the beautiful museum of the Pino Pascali Foundation, named after an artist originally from Polignano who passed away in the 1960s, which hosts contemporary art exhibitions.

What to see around
in Polignano a Mare

Polignano a Mare's atmosphere can be savored by strolling along the cliffs and descending to the coastline, where the view of the white city is spectacular. A forty-minute walk towards Nola, passing the delightful bays of Ponte dei Lapilli and Porto Cavallo, both ideal for a refreshing swim, takes you to the village of San Vito, unmistakable for the remains of the eponymous abbey, dating back to the 9th century, the time of the Basilian monks who took refuge in these lands fleeing the iconoclastic struggles of the Byzantine Empire.

Don't miss the splendid Cala San Giovanni, a unique beach that has won several national awards and is constantly awarded the Blue Flag.

Cala San Giovanni is a place like few others. A beach of fine golden sand nestled in a natural cove, surrounded by a lush pine forest and unique caves carved out by time. Let the sea breeze caress you as you lie comfortably on your sun lounger, and immerse yourself in the deep relaxation of our crystal-clear sea.

A little further on is the square tower of San Vito overlooking a stretch of sea that resembles a natural pool. Day or night, in this idyllic spot, also brimming with bars and restaurants, you'll never be alone: Polignano's nightlife extends all the way here.

Caves and cliff diving

There are about twenty caves that the sea has created with the force of its waves on the cliff on which Polignano stands: the largest is the Palazzese Cave, so named because it is located beneath a noble palace from which it could be accessed. Today, the palace has been transformed into a 5-star hotel, which has created the restaurant rooms in the natural ravines of the cliff, and the cave remains accessible by sea.

What to eat in Polignano al Mare

On one of the many terraces overlooking the cliffs, in Polignano's numerous restaurants, you can enjoy raw seafood dishes year-round, a mix of cuttlefish, shrimp, scampi, and many other fish depending on the season and catch. For those who prefer their fish well-cooked, the dish to try is rice, potatoes, and mussels.

Another local specialty is the very sweet Polignano carrot, grown in the area of the Abbey of San Vito, recognized as a Slow Food Presidium.

A coffee, but a special one: with lemon zest and cream
